Hi, 👋🏾 I’m Opanike!
(pronounced O-pah-nee-kay).
My road to physical fitness and repairing my relationship with my body has been a lifetime endeavor.
Listen!!! I’ve struggled with food and weight for the majority of my life. In the past this has looked like over-exercising, losing then regaining the same 30lbs (on 3 separate occasions), holding myself to impossible standards of perfection and thinness, incessantly checking the mirror for flaws and “fatness”, diet pills, fad diets, and binge eating to cope with the emotional turmoil I felt inside.
I’ve always been a mover! Dance, roller skating, running, biking, yoga, hula hooping— you name it, I love movement! Alongside my struggles, I often found solace, connection, and freedom in my body when shifting through space and time. I recognized my body as “my home”, a place where I could express myself and just be.
This is when I discovered how to live in my body.
After healing through my own childhood trauma via therapy, journal work, and self help books, I was able to repair the grips of hurt and suffering which seemingly paralyzed me for so long. Shame keeps us stuck and trapped into believing things about ourselves that aren’t true. I eventually gained success with tending to my years of depression, anxiety and withdrawal from the world and those around me knowing that if I continued “hiding”, I would never truly feel whole…ALIVE.
It is through my journey that I recognize the same struggles in others. Becoming a personal trainer and sharing my love for movement was a natural progression—the next phase. As I embrace my 50’s, I’m learning new ways to dream big and live boldly. My vision is to:
Help women transform their relationship with their health and to live better in their bodies.
I am committed to sharing my expertise and lived experiences to help you reach living the fullest expression of your healthiest self.
I know what it feels like to try, try, and try and feel like you aren’t getting anywhere. You too can build the confidence and strength to live in your body. So now, you don’t have to go at it alone. C’mon girl, let’s do this! ❤️
